Job Title: Park Ranger

Join the State of Connecticut team as a Park Ranger and contribute to the preservation and protection of our state's natural resources.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Park Ranger. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, enforcing park rules and regulations, and participating in various park operations and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Enforce park rules and regulations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
  • Participate in park operations and maintenance activities, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Assist with special events and programs, such as educational programs, festivals, and concerts.
  • Collaborate with other park staff to achieve park goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in a variety of weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a park or outdoor recreation setting.
  • Knowledge of park rules and regulations.
  • Ability to operate park equipment and vehicles.
Working Conditions:

The Park Ranger will work in a variety of settings, including park offices, visitor centers, and outdoor areas. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing situations, and perform manual labor in a variety of weather conditions.
