Job Summary for the Nuclear Medicine TechnologistThis role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient completion of diagnostic studies and procedures. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for gathering diagnostic information through the use of radioactive materials and providing comprehensive direct patient care.
Responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist- Perform Nuclear Medicine exams in a timely manner, document required information, and communicate to primary physician and direct care staff pertinent information.
- Coordinate and assist the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
- Evaluate patient condition in order to adequately perform radiology exams.
- Inform and explain procedure to be performed to patients and what is expected in terms of their cooperation.
To be considered for this role, you must have an Associate Degree from an approved Joint Review Committee on Education Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent. Additionally, you must be certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) and hold certifications such as CNMT or ARRT (N).
