Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado.

About the Role

This is a PRN (as-needed) position requiring the ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. As a Forensic Nurse, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with traumatic injuries, conducting thorough assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, recognize, and address patients' psychological and physical needs
  • Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind
  • Communicate compassionately and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines
  • Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs
  • Participate in clinical team conferences
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Previous forensics nurse experience required
  • Completion of the forensic nursing course required prior to starting
