Medical Care Coordinator for Students

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Care Coordinator to join our team at the San Jose Job Corp Center. As a Medical Care Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing medical care and treatment to our students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting cursory examinations and physical examinations, ensuring the health and well-being of our students.
- Evaluate and treat students according to state scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), collecting vital information about their health complaints.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and administrative staff members to provide prescribed medical treatment to students.
- Administer medication, explain proper use of medications, and manage medication procedures on-site.
- Perform routine medical tasks within the scope of your license and document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and Student Health Records.
- Administer immunizations as required.
- Work under the supervision of the Health and Wellness Director or staff RN, taking and recording patients' vitals.
- Assist with scheduling students' appointments and maintaining equipment and supplies.
- FOLLOW infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.
- Document all procedures, counseling, and education provided to students.
- Report to the Health and Wellness Director or Registered Nurse and attend required staff training sessions.
- Venipuncture is available for certified individuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful as a Medical Care Coordinator, you must possess:
- An active, unrestricted license to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in the state where our center is located.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One plus year's nursing experience, preferably in a Job Corps setting.
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on location and experience.
