Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Property and Casualty Insurance Business Development Specialist to join our team at South Carolina Insurance Brokers. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on new challenges and contribute to the growth and success of our company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the retention of assigned clients accounts, proactively managing client relationships, and performing complex tasks with minimal instruction. They will also be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and manage workflows to ensure efficient and timely processing of transactions and other responsibilities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Client Account Management: Assist in the retention of assigned clients accounts, identify exposure to loss, and recommend appropriate coverages in coordination with Sales Executives/Account Executives.
  • Marketing and Submissions: Prepare and submit marketing submissions to carriers, including application preparation, loss analysis, and other pertinent information for professional, quality new and renewal submissions.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise (knowledge of insurance coverages and products) to Sales Executives/Account Executives, specifically in analyzing client needs, coverage forms, and quotations during the sales process.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with management to set and achieve integrated selling targets, maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Property & Casualty Insurance Agency along with comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
  • Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license or willing to obtain one within an agreed-upon timeframe.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables, work in a fast-paced environment, and set priorities and manage workflows to ensure efficient and timely processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
