Job Summary


At WorkingBuildings, we are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Authority Level 2 Specialist to provide and support project commissioning services for a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will gain valuable testing skills as they develop troubleshooting and communication strategies needed for deficiency resolution.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform and document design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Review contractor submittals for commissioned systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct on-site construction inspections and complete associated reports to identify and track non-compliance issues.
  • Create pre-functional test scripts and functional performance test scripts to validate system performance.
  • Conduct functional performance testing to identify and resolve system deficiencies.
  • Lead the reconciliation of non-compliance issues discovered during testing and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain written communication and report writing skills to effectively communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Utilize analytical tools and test equipment to support commissioning activities.
  • Work self-directed to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Read and understand construction documents, controls and instrumentation documents, and electrical wiring diagrams to ensure accurate interpretation.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent applicable industry experience (6 years).
  • Ability to obtain commissioning authority certification within 2 years of initial employment.
  • OSHA 10 safety training course completion (within 6 months of hire).


Preferred Qualifications


  • Ability to obtain EIT.
  • Ability to obtain PE.


Working Conditions and Physical Efforts


The successful candidate will be required to travel to local and out of town project sites and meetings, with travel schedules driven by project requirements. The ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, drive in various conditions, and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and ladders is essential. Moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises, is also expected.
