At the University of New Mexico Hospitals, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Support Professional to join our team as a Medical Assistant. As a key member of our clinical support staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including preparing patients for exams, collecting medical histories, performing treatment procedures, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities- Prepare patients for exams by gathering necessary information, conducting initial screenings, and recording vital signs.
- Collect medical histories from patients and document their information accurately and efficiently.
- Perform various treatment procedures, such as administering medications, taking vitals, and collecting laboratory samples, under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including test results, medication lists, and other relevant information.
- Assist healthcare professionals with routine exams, procedures, and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., nursing, healthcare administration).
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably as a Medical Assistant.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and basic computer software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to your base salary, you will also receive:
