Senior Communications Systems Project Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a cross-functional engineering team at the EW Division of Leidos, utilizing innovative technology to develop cutting-edge solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD).
As a Senior Communications Systems Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and managing engineering research, as well as designing, developing, and manufacturing projects involving antenna and transceiver communications systems in a diverse and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Apply design and application knowledge of complex communications systems, including antennas, transceivers, networks, and more.
- Be actively engaged in engineering research, design, development, and sustaining projects.
- Oversee project schedule, budget, and drive cross-functional technical teams to achieve technical objectives.
- Lead teams through complete lifecycle phases, including requirements, concept development, design reviews, validation and verification, and release to production using established formal IEEE systems engineering process.
- Manage relationships between customers, technical staff, and supply chain.
- Promote innovation on existing products and propose cutting-edge technological opportunities for the advancement of communications systems.
- US Citizenship required. Must have an active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.
- Must have Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) experience, including knowledge of pick-n-place, conformal coating, environmental test, acceptance test, module/box/systems build operations.
- Strong planning skills, including defining requirements, time estimating, communicating progress to stakeholders at each phase of project, documentation, and testing.
- Broad Engineering background sufficient to analyze design data related to electrical, software, mechanical, and physical science disciplines.
- Proven experience with managing major suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development, including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competitors, team leadership, etc.
- Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations and proven record of success developing opportunities within the DoD community.
- BA/BS in Engineering or equivalent experience and 12-15 years of program management experience.
The estimated salary for this position is $112,450 - $203,275 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
