Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Spokane Valley. This role will be responsible for managing benefits administration, employee relations, talent acquisition, and workforce planning. Responsibilities
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Develop and implement group benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
    • Serve as primary point of contact for vendors and third-party administrators.
    • Coordinate data transfer and maintain administrative processes and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Employee Relations/Performance Management:
    • Conduct workplace investigations and administer progressive discipline incidents.
    • Assist management in providing feedback to employees and making recommendations for terminations when necessary.
    • Manage OSHA complaints and investigations, LNI inquiries, and verifications of employment.
    • Coordinate employee leave systems and ADA accommodations.
  • Talent Acquisition/Recruiting:
    • Assist the Talent Acquisition Manager in pre-screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and checking references.
    • Direct, manage, and motivate a team of recruiters and HR associates to deliver quality interview experiences.
    • Leverage our workforce and ATS system to create reporting and team accountability.
  • Workforce Planning:
    • Identify gaps in existing employee rosters and make recommendations for changes in workforce needs.
    • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements within the cannabis industry and Washington, Oregon, and Iowa labor laws.
  • Payroll Verification:
    • Ensure payroll is executed in a timely manner and verify inputs in the payroll system.
    • Verify paid time off and paid sick leave for employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or human resource related field.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in human resources.
  • 2 years of experience supporting workforce needs across multiple locations and states.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local law, particularly in Washington and Oregon.
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Possess a keen attention to detail and demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members.
