Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Hendricks Regional Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our Imaging Services team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and technical expertise in the operation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform MRI procedures to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions and minimizing anxiety.
- Select and operate MRI equipment, determining optimal scanning parameters.
- Verify documentation and assist licensed physicians with procedures.
- Provide physical and psychological support to patients during procedures.
- Understand and perform venipunctures, as needed.
- Prepare and administer contrast media, as prescribed by licensed physicians.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and provide hard copy records.
- Initiate basic life support actions, as necessary.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, as needed.
- Provide patient education on tests and procedures.
- Assume responsibility for assigned area and report equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
- Provide input for supply decisions and maintain knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques.
- Use common sense and medical skills to care for patients with regard to age and diagnosis.
- Record patient histories and indications in the Notes section of Synapse.
- Create and release imaging viewing media to other institutions or patients, as authorized.
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved School of Radiographic Technology.
- Computer experience and knowledge of MRI procedures.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR) or equivalent.
- State of Indiana certification and ARRT certification in good standing.
This position may require participation in on-call duties to provide technical support during non-regularly scheduled shifts. Hours and days of on-call coverage may vary according to staffing situations and need.
