Role Overview

The Senior Intraoperative Monitoring Tech is a critical member of the neurosurgical and spine surgery IOM team, responsible for performing and monitoring all modalities of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring.

About the Role

This full-time position requires a minimum of 6-12 months of IOM experience and certification in Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM licensure). The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of operating room procedures and protocols related to sterile technique and infection control.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing and monitoring intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring for neurosurgical, vascular, pediatric, ENT, orthopedic spine, and interventional radiology procedures
  • Recording motor cranial nerve recording, spontaneous or evoked electromyography (EMG), spinal screw and direct nerve stimulation, intraoperative somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP), intraoperative electroencephalography (EEG), intraoperative brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAER), and intraoperative transcranial electrical motor evoked potentials (TCeMEP)
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure accurate and reliable monitoring data
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in anatomy/physiology, biological sciences, or a closely related field
  • A minimum of 6-12 months of IOM experience
  • Certification in Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM licensure)
  • BLS certification
  • Advanced knowledge of operating room procedures and protocols related to sterile technique and infection control
