About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Registered Nurse to join our team in the ED Observation Unit at Parkland Health and Hospital System.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient care delivery by the healthcare team, utilizing the nursing process to assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and develop individualized plans of care using the nursing process
  • Delegate interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies
  • Provide patient-centered/patient-valued care, demonstrating effective interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication
  • Prepare and conduct in-service educational programs and serve as a preceptor or Charge Nurse
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Two years of nursing experience; prefer experience in an acute care setting
  • Current, valid RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or a valid Compact RN license
