The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Community Disability Inclusion Coordinator. This part-time role will play a crucial part in enhancing our capacity to create and support a sense of belonging for children with disabilities and their families within the fabric of the Jewish community.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for developing community infrastructure to support day schools in providing resources that meet the needs of all students, including those with disabilities. The successful candidate will assess the current landscape, collaborate with school partners, and facilitate a Day School professionals' student support network.

  • Develop community infrastructure to support day schools in meeting the needs of all students.
  • Foster partnerships with organizations that provide formal and informal Jewish education and programming.

The Community Disability Inclusion Coordinator will serve as a parent support resource, helping concierge parents access diagnostic services and specialists to address student needs. Additionally, they will expand the University of Houston clinic and language screenings partnership services in day schools and early childhood schools.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a Master's degree in special education, social work, or a related field and at least five years of experience in a school setting. Familiarity with Jewish education and Judaism through education, training, or experience is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required. An open-minded and flexible individual who can adapt to evolving opportunities is ideal.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $60,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
