Low Voltage Security Estimator

The Estimator role at Conzer Security involves preparing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for various low voltage security projects. These include systems such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and fire alarms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the industry, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for low voltage security projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and project requirements.
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and accurate lead times.
  • Identifying potential project risks and incorporating contingencies into estimates to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Collaborating with sales and project management teams to develop proposals that meet client expectations and align with project goals.
  • Participating in bid review meetings, providing insights and justifications for pricing decisions.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized records of all estimates, including revisions and final versions.
  • Staying informed on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Utilizing industry-standard estimation software and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy.
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of estimation processes and templates to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required qualifications include:

  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in estimating within the low voltage security industry or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and fire alarms.
  • Experience with estimation software such as Bluebeam, Accubid, or similar tools.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to produce accurate estimates under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and industry standards.
  • Project management experience or certifications.
