PACCAR Summer Internship Program

The PACCAR Summer Internship Program is an exceptional opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in Distribution Operations. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of PACCAR's operations, allowing interns to make meaningful contributions to the organization while enhancing their resume.

About the Program

As a PACCAR intern, you will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities, and events to ensure a thorough understanding of PACCAR's operations. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced goal-oriented colleagues recognized as experts in their field, providing valuable networking opportunities and exposure to various aspects of the company.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist and support supervisory duties such as scheduling workloads, assigning job functions, and monitoring daily performance of associates.

  • Assist in recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating efficiency, and safe working conditions.

  • Assist in building standard work documentation to properly control supervisory procedures.

  • Support multiple projects defined to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Perform miscellaneous project work and hands-on duties as assigned.

  • Travel to other Distribution Centers to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • PC literate in MSWord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills. Strong group presentation skills.

  • Able to work in the office or warehouse physical environments as required. Warehouse equipment operation desired. Familiarity with forklift or other equipment a plus.

  • Ability to move, lift, or carry up to 70 lbs, withstand heights up to 30 feet, and operate warehouse equipment safely. Ability to reason logically, discriminate fine detail, distant visual and close information.

  • Knowledge of Distribution Center operations, supervisory, quality, and/or inventory control experience is a plus.

  • Six Sigma training in LEAN, DFSS, or DMAIC logic is a plus.

  • Ideal candidate is potentially seeking a career in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
