CNA Job Summary

A Certified Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a healthcare setting. As a CNA, you will be responsible for assisting patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, and documenting actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including serving meals, feeding patients as necessary, and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients.
• Provide adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths, and applying restraints.
• Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, testing urine, and recording intake and output information.
• Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials, transporting patients, answering patients' call lights and requests, and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of relevant nursing care.
• Friendly and professional bedside manner.
• Maintains current CPR certification.
• Multi-tasking skills.
• Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills.
• Understands legal implications of patient care.

Education and Experience:

• Certification with accredited training course through the State of California and current certification through American Heart Association in Basic Life.
• 2 years of nursing assistant experience.
• Appropriate license.
