Maintenance Worker III Job Description

This is a skilled maintenance position that involves performing a variety of tasks on City streets and sidewalks, as well as during winter operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a wide range of light and heavy construction equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Work in all elements of weather and be able to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and members of the public.
  • Provide good customer service and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Be willing to work mandatory overtime during the winter period.
  • Hold a valid Maine Class B driver's license.
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of the functions and operating methods of various construction equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility, and stamina.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
