Job Summary:

The Reservations Specialist is responsible for handling reservations, inquiries, and cancellations in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Book room reservations while maximizing room revenue and average rate.
  • Enter reservations into the computer according to standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate with the Sales Department regarding group bookings.
  • Maintain accurate files and reports.
  • Handle special reservations, including VIP reservations, packages, and discounts.
  • Monitor daily sales activity and alert the Guest Services Manager of sold-out nights, group status, and potential problem situations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field highly preferred.
  • College coursework in a related field helpful.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amounts of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
