Job Summary:

This Diagnostic Imaging Specialist position is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our mammography team at SSM Health Medical Group Columbia. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography imaging services, ensuring prompt submission of images and documents, and maintaining equipment functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment and perform various mammography-related procedures, preparing and positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical parameters.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develop and evaluate images for technical quality, such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning, reporting potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements:

  • An Associate's degree or graduate from a certificate program in radiologic technology.
  • No experience required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • ARRT-M Mammography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
  • Or Radiologic Technologists – Temporary Accreditation - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)

Estimated Salary Range:$25.52 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
