About Tandym Group

Tandym Group, a nonprofit services organization based in New York City, is seeking a licensed professional to join their staff as a Psychotherapist. This role offers an opportunity to work with adolescents (ages 0-21) in an outpatient mental health clinic setting.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical assessment and diagnosis, crisis intervention support, and psychotherapy services to assigned clients. The schedule will be Monday to Friday, with a minimum commitment of 3-7 hours per week, and working hours from 9am to 8pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnoses
  • Screen for trauma and safety concerns as applicable
  • Support an assigned caseload for psychotherapy, working collaboratively with clients to define measurable treatment goals
  • Provide ongoing individual, group, and/or family counseling as needed
  • Practice within the scope and adherence of evidence-based models utilized when treating clients
  • Offer crisis intervention services and participate in on-call crisis intervention rotation coverage
  • Perform ongoing case analysis and treatment planning
  • Participate in case conferences and all treatment team activities
  • Assist families with both clinical and concrete services, and community linkages as applicable
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related behavioral science degree
  • NYS LMSW, MHC, or other relevant license
  • Solid assessment and documentation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in Child Welfare/Child Protective Services
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience with Evidence-Based Models

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
