Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in providing exceptional musculoskeletal care to patients in northwest Indiana.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in x-ray procedures and protocols, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures from defined protocols
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging exams
  • Collaborate with physicians to deliver accurate diagnostic information
  • Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials
  • Ensure equipment is in working order, report equipment malfunctions to supervisor
  • Enter procedures on the superbill
  • Complete pending radiologic procedures
  • Import and burn CDs as needed for physicians and patients
  • Maintain examination rooms by stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies
  • Escort patients to and from waiting rooms and exam rooms
  • Attend meetings and seminars as needed
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adherence to HIPPA guidelines

Requirements:

  • Certification as a radiologic technologist
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for patient care and a fun, team-oriented attitude
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have reliable transportation

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in X-ray but will consider a new graduate

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, and to work both day/evening shifts.

Work may hand dexterity as well as the need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
