Job Title: Aerospace Instrumentation Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Canvas Inc. The successful candidate will provide technical support for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems used in high-performance aerospace environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation systems used for data acquisition and control in high-performance aerospace environments.
- Assist in configuring control systems for test setups, ensuring precise measurements during testing procedures.
- Support troubleshooting of systems to resolve technical issues during pre-test, testing, and post-test operations.
- Support collection, analysis, and documentation of test data, ensuring it meets the accuracy standards required for aerospace testing.
- Collaborate with engineers and test directors to ensure proper functionality of instrumentation systems for testing and facility upgrades.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain safe working conditions in high-stress test environments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with instrumentation systems, data acquisition, or control systems in a testing or industrial environment desired.
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, or high-tech testing environments.
- Knowledge/experience in design, planning, and installation of various ID&C facility upgrades.
- Experience in planning and execution of test campaigns.
- Hands-on experience with automated control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with the testing and evaluation protocols used at Major Range and Test Facility Bases (MRTFB), such as AEDC.
- Familiarity with signal processing, sensors, transducers, and data logging equipment.
- Familiarity with industrial vacuum systems, hydraulic systems, high pressure air systems, etc. Experience with calibration standards, techniques, and best practices.
- Experience with software and tools used for configuring and analyzing data from control systems (LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly with electronic, control, and video systems.
- Willingness to cross train in other areas.
- Understanding of wiring diagrams and ability to break down systems.
- Skills: Soldering, Connector assembly, Cable construction, Sensor potting and installation, Strain gauge installation, Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience preparing wind tunnel test articles for upcoming test entries desired.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
