Role Overview

As a Veterinary Assistant at Arbor Veterinary Services, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets and their families. This is a part-time position that offers a unique opportunity to grow your career and make a meaningful impact in the lives of animals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with clients to educate them on medical procedures and next steps.
  • Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with patients during pre-op, surgery, and post-op procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment in exam and treatment rooms by stocking supplies and ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Utilize computer information systems to record patient history, update medical records, and accurately dispense pharmaceuticals.
  • Place weekly inventory orders, manage on-hand inventory, receive shipments, and process returns/damaged goods.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in animal husbandry.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, AAS or higher preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squat, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day.
  • Inventory/purchasing experience preferred but not required.
