Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team at Leidos. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of software projects from initiation to closure. This includes coordinating with technical leads, managing project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Coordinate with technical leads to understand and manage the complex technical solutions demanded by the client.
  • Ability and understanding to manage technical discussions within the programme team.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in delivering software projects specifically.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in SAFe Agile and Waterfall models of delivery cycles.
  • Good interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders to develop strong working relations to support achieving objectives.
  • Able to engage and work within a multi-functional programme team comprising both customer, supplier, and internal staff with an awareness of engineering principles.
  • A sound understanding of business, finance, and personnel management techniques and the commercial aspects of projects.
  • The ability to communicate, negotiate, and influence effectively.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with good verbal communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A technical background in software development/test activities.

Clearance Requirements:

The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain UK Security Clearance.
