Job Summary:

This pivotal position demands a highly skilled and dedicated individual who can provide top-notch care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The selected candidate will be responsible for completing preoperative assessments, documenting patient information, and collaborating with medical professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to identify potential safety risks, ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices.
  • Deliver medication safely, adhering to the 5 Rights of Medication Administration, while maintaining open communication with anesthesia, CST, RN, PA, and Surgeons.
  • Identify learning needs of patients, families, and significant others prior to surgery, providing education and reassurance to alleviate stressors.
  • Promote effective teamwork, supervising nursing care and delegating tasks appropriately, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Assess patient skin condition, documenting changes and implementing protocols as needed, adhering to Nursing Standards of Practice.

Requirements:

This role requires a Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Connecticut, along with one year of experience in a similar setting. Basic Cardiac Life Support (CBL) certification, Trauma hours, and manual skills are essential qualifications for this position.
