At VCU Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Transplant Specialist to join our team of healthcare professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide medical and surgical care to patients in the outpatient setting.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services as delegated by a physician. Your expertise will include histories and physicals, ordering and interpreting tests, making preliminary diagnoses, treating injuries and illnesses, assisting with surgical procedures, counseling patients, and prescribing medication. You will work collaboratively with the medical team to deliver organized, timely, cost-effective, and quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have previous clinical experience serving the transplant surgery patient population and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. A Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program is required, and current Virginia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is mandatory. National certification as appropriate for the role is also required. Additionally, current CPR and Basic Life Support certifications are necessary, and ACLS certifications may be required depending on the unit assignment. Experience working in an academic healthcare system is preferred.

This position requires independent action, including clinical decision-making and daily prioritization of activities. The ability to handle multiple priorities, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to frequent change is essential.
