Customer Experience Host

Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego is seeking a Customer Experience Host to provide exceptional service and ensure a memorable experience for visitors. This role plays a vital part in the museum's mission to engage diverse audiences with innovative exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
About the JobThis is a part-time, non-exempt position working Wednesday to Sunday and/or Thursday to Sunday, with some evening and holiday shifts. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a warm and welcoming demeanor, and a passion for contemporary art.
Key Responsibilities- Alternate shifts between various areas of the museum, including the shop, front desk, and galleries.
- Greet visitors, answer questions, and provide information about exhibits and programs.
- Sell admission tickets, pitch membership options, and process transactions efficiently.
- Maintain the museum's phone system by answering calls, transferring them to relevant parties, and responding to messages.
- Ensure that museum policies are communicated effectively to visitors and staff.
- Work collaboratively with the Visitor Experience Administrative Assistant to discuss team concerns, solutions, and best practices.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with visitors, guests, and colleagues.
- The ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic technical skills in Microsoft Office and familiarity with contemporary art.
