Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Student Employee to serve as a STEM Tutor in the Academic Success Center. The successful candidate will provide academic support to students in STEM courses, helping them to advance their competencies and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group tutoring sessions to students in STEM courses
• Develop and implement study strategies and content review/interpretation techniques
• Assist students with home assignments and projects
• Work towards College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certification
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure effective support for students

Requirements:

• 3.0 overall GPA
• Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at SHSU for at least 2 semesters
• Maintained an A or B average in the course you are applying to tutor for
• Two recommendation letters from faculty/instructors who can discuss your math skills and your ability to work with students
• MUST have completed a FAFSA for the current academic term
