Job Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Apprentice at Tarkett, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on various pieces of equipment and machinery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Satisfactorily complete the required on-the-job training and educational obligations of the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program.
  • Learn to use, repair, install, read, and troubleshoot in the following areas: electrical, programmable logic controls, machine repair, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Maintain equipment and machinery and perform necessary preventative maintenance activities.
  • Learn to read and comprehend technical information.
  • Develop organizational and mathematical skills.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations and set an example for others.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to others.
  • Punctually attend work and maintain a strong attendance record.
  • Achieve a job performance rating of "Satisfactory".
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be physically capable of performing the work of the occupation with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to comply with existing safety standards.
  • Demonstrate proven critical thinking skills.
  • Exhibit excellent people skills.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Display strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a well-kept work area.
  • Able to work in a challenging environment with frequent distractions and interruptions along with multiple demands from other associates, managers, and customers.
