Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomy and Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our Blood Donor Center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and phlebotomy services to donors and patients.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with varying dayshift and evening hours, Monday-Friday. No holidays or rare weekends. You will work closely with our medical team to process and evaluate prospective donors, perform donor phlebotomies, and aid in donor recruitment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care to donors and patients in various age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Triages multiple blood donor reactions and directs medical care as needed.
  • Assigns, delegates, and oversees other employees and clinicians to provide patient care at community and fixed-site locations.
  • Administers post-phlebotomy care and performs patient assessments during donor vasovagal and adverse reaction situations.
  • Collects patient and donor comprehensive data pertinent to the care of the donor or patient.
  • Provides leadership to other team members and is primary contact at community blood drives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A current licensure as a Registered Nurse, issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support.
  • One year phlebotomy, blood center collections, dialysis, or apheresis experience preferred.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your annual salary, you can expect:
