Dental Assistant

Wexford Health Sources is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in a correctional facility setting. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality dental care to residents under the supervision of a Wexford Health Dentist.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain supplies, materials, and records of treatment.
- Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies as directed by the dentist or dental hygienist.
- Assist the dentist in providing dental care to residents, including preparing patients for treatment and ensuring proper clean up, packaging, and sterilizing of instruments.
- Accurately record services in the patient's medical record, as directed by the dentist.
- Provide chair-side assistance, including keeping the operating field clear, passing instruments, and suctioning.
- Scrubs and sterilizes instruments, mixes restorative materials, and assists in taking intra-oral x-rays.
- Maintain x-ray unit, processor, autoclave, and dental unit according to specifications.
- Inventories supplies and equipment to maintain adequate levels.
- High School Graduate or GED certificate.
- Experience working in a dental setting and/or correctional health care preferred.
- CPR certification required.
