About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Housing Advocate to join our team at Catholic Charities. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and families.

Job Summary:

The Senior Housing Advocate will be responsible for providing housing support services to eligible clients, including needs assessment, housing stabilization planning, crisis intervention counseling, and coordination with community resources. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments with clients to identify housing needs and develop personalized housing plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling and support services to clients experiencing housing-related emergencies.
  • Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and other stakeholders to secure affordable housing options for clients.
  • Connect clients with community resources and services that can help them achieve stable housing.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience working in housing support services or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of local housing resources and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including those with mental health issues and substance abuse challenges.
