Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Housing Asset Building Specialist to join our team at Ascend Nonprofit Solutions. In this role, you will provide financial counseling and facilitate asset building seminars, fair housing workshops, and topics related to asset building and sustaining rental housing.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a working knowledge of homeownership grants and agreements, mortgage requirements, down payment assistance programs, default and delinquency requirements, and fair housing laws and regulations.
  • Conduct and teach pre- and post-homeownership workshops and seminars to potential customers for the purpose of purchasing a home or preventing foreclosure and evictions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by thoroughly assessing customers' housing needs, making appropriate referrals to other service agencies as needed, and maintaining timely follow-ups with customers.
  • Assess customers' purchase power and loan affordability, evaluate customer credit reports, and develop individualized housing counseling plans for rental housing and pre- and post-homeownership.
  • Update and maintain e-files in Counselor Max, HMIS, and other portals required by funders.
  • Compile and submit weekly reports to the Program Manager.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • HUD Housing Counselor Certification.

What We Offer: Competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
