About the Role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Healthcare Specialist in Region 4. This role will involve providing community transition support services to individuals with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these.

Job Summary

This is a telework position that requires travel throughout the region when necessary. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to monitor the health and safety of individuals transitioning out of state hospitals to community programs. Key responsibilities include completing designated audit tools and assessments, evaluating person-centered supports, and documenting all visits and follow-up actions appropriately.

Responsibilities

* Monitor the health and safety of individuals transitioning from state hospitals to community programs
* Complete designated audit tools and assessments at scheduled times
* Evaluate person-centered supports to determine consistency with best practices
* Document all visits, assessments, and follow-up actions accurately
* Provide technical assistance and education onsite during the audit process

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and current Georgia licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. Previous experience in a mental health, developmental disabilities, and/or addictive diseases facility or community-based setting is also essential. Familiarity with total quality management of services provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is between $65,000 and $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
