Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our garnishment team as a Garnishment Operations Manager. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in managing complex garnishment processes and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Garnishment Process Management:
  • Supervise a team of experienced garnishment specialists to ensure timely and accurate processing of garnishment orders, tax levies, child support, and other court-ordered deductions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and implement efficient garnishment procedures that minimize errors and optimize compliance.
  • Oversee the review and approval of complex garnishment cases or special situations, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with applicable laws.
  • Maintain accurate records of garnishment notices and payments, adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure the garnishment team maintains up-to-date knowledge of changing garnishment laws and regulations, implementing process updates accordingly.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and legal counsel to resolve complex garnishment issues and maintain compliance with relevant laws.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, external agencies, and internal departments, to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on garnishment activities, highlighting key metrics, such as deductions, payments, and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of garnishment cases for auditing and reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, finance, or law.
  • Experience:
  • At least 6 years of experience in garnishment processing, payroll, or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Deep understanding of garnishment laws, tax levies, child support, and wage garnishment processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, external agencies, and internal departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and payroll software or HRIS systems.
