Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Inspector to join our team at Dextera Corporation. As a Fire Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting buildings to locate hazardous conditions and fire code violations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect buildings to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire protection and detection systems to verify their proper installation and functioning.
  • Identify corrective actions necessary to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Write detailed reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed, and corrective recommendations offered.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of four years of related experience in fire inspection or a related field.
  • High school diploma or GED is required; a degree in fire science or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with building construction and features, as well as the characteristics of fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of code requirements, regulations, and basic operational features of fire safety equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various individuals and groups.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position involves extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and bending, as well as intermittent performance of physically demanding work.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
