Computed Tomography Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:
The Computed Tomography Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing computerized tomographic scans and providing exceptional patient care at Northern Arizona Healthcare Corporation.
About the Role:
- Obtains patient history and educates patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention.
- Positions patients appropriately for the applicable radiographic procedure and performs radiographic procedures according to departmental guidelines.
- Develops and evaluates radiographic results for technical quality, such as density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
- Maintains infection prevention standards, prepares, cleans, adjusts, inspects, and maintains equipment, and produces quality images.
- Collaborates with physicians and other medical professionals to provide timely interpretation of examination results.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care- Performs basic patient care and ensures patient safety throughout the imaging process.
- Explains standard procedures and answers patient questions in a clear and concise manner.
- Operates head or body scanners to create a computer-generated cross-sectional image of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues.
- Determines and sets appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
- Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Documents any incidental findings that might impact patient safety or patient care and provides that information to the interpreting physician.
- Participates in creating and sustaining a learning environment supported by evidenced-based practice and research.
- Focuses on personal development areas, engaging in professional/collegial interactions with peers and students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field required. Associate's degree will be considered with relevant experience.
- RRT-CT certification required. BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
- At least 1 year of experience as an imaging technologist required. 3 years of experience preferred.
Estimated Salary: $63,500 - $80,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
