Job Title: Lab Manager

Job Summary

The Lab Manager will oversee lab operations, supervise lab employees, perform laboratory maintenance and safety training, and act as the safety and chemical hygiene officer. Key responsibilities include purchasing supplies, inspecting and maintaining lab equipment, creating SOPs, and collaborating with outside vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage lab operations, including purchasing supplies, inspecting and maintaining lab equipment, and creating SOPs
  • Supervise lab employees, provide training and guidance, and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Collaborate with outside vendors, manage inventory, and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for lab operations
  • Anticipate, troubleshoot, and resolve problems associated with work within the laboratory setting
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related Life Science degree
  • 5+ years' experience in an industrial biotechnology setting with 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of wet lab experience and a broad knowledge of standard lab equipment
  • Proven experience in laboratory housekeeping procedures, including maintaining inventory and equipment, ordering supplies, and preparing solutions
  • Understanding of microbiology and sterile technique
  • Knowledge of EH&S regulations and requirements for laboratory safety
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years' experience with Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) service
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO
  • Experience working in a high throughput manufacturing environment and flexibility to modify in a work environment
  • Strong team management, communication, and coordination skills
  • Strong sense of work responsibility and cost awareness

Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000 DOE plus bonus
