Job Title: Chief Business Official

About the Role:

The Belmont-Redwood Shores School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Business Official to join our senior management team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the district's financial and business operations, ensuring the effective management of resources, and providing strategic guidance to support the district's educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to ensure the district's financial stability and growth.
  • Oversee the district's business operations, including maintenance, food services, payroll, purchasing, and transportation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the business office staff, ensuring the effective management of financial and operational systems.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent and other district leaders to develop and implement strategic plans to support the district's educational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, laws, and policies related to financial and business operations.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Four or more years of experience in school business, comparable private sector experience, or related school operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community.
  • Ability to formulate plans and policies, analyze data, and make sound recommendations on complex programs.
  • Knowledge of applicable state laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
