Cross Country Assistant Coach Part-time Adjunct Pool Position

About the Position:
This is a part-time adjunct pool position for an assistant coach in the Division of Physical Education and Athletics. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching a diverse student population and leading the Cross Country team to success.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct the recruitment, conditioning, training, practice, eligibility, and behavioral conduct of athletes in the Cross Country program.
- Provide coaching, instructional, and/or non-instructional services as specified by assignment in a diverse campus and community environment.
- Demonstrate ability to coach, develop, and promote an intercollegiate sports program.
- Evidence of continual professional involvement.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience.
- OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- OR the equivalent.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid California Driver's License.

- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
- Ability to effectively work with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
- Ability to develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
- Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency.
- Ability to assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission.
