Job Summary:

Swinerton is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead our Concrete Self-Perform Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall management of construction projects, ensuring successful project completion within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple or large, complex projects, estimating and establishing budgets and contract prices.
  • Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases, setting up and implementing job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors, working with Superintendents to develop safety plans and implement safety procedures.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management, managing, training, and supervising project teams according to Company policy.
  • Organize regular meetings for management and subcontractors, reviewing contract conditions to ensure compliance with all contract terms.
  • Supervise documentation of all significant project events, direct preconstruction services and activities, and negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages.
  • Assist with business development and participate in job interviews, maintaining quality control and supporting estimating staff.
  • Avoid or mitigate claims and conflict, completing all job close-out procedures and conducting warranty follow-up.

Requirements:

  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree or equivalent experience.
  • Field construction management experience, concrete (8-10 years, including supervisory skills).
  • Leadership ability, problem-solving ability, and strong sense of urgency.
  • Organizational and communication skills, drafting and computer skills, and fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating).
