Job Title: Database Administrator

At Q2 Software, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our Database Operations Team. This team is responsible for the operation and delivery of our customer-facing Software as a Service (SaaS) and custom hosting products.

**Responsibilities:**

* Perform daily operational processes and troubleshooting events
* Fulfill customer requests for database services
* Work alongside Database Engineers and Database Reliability Engineers
* Opportunity to advance beyond this role

**A Typical Day:**

* Monitor, administer, repair, and maintain SQL databases within customer-hosted environments
* Contribute to the configuration, layout, and performance tuning of production infrastructure
* Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues as needed
* Assist with customer implementations and upgrades
* Support requests for unscheduled database backups and restores
* Attend and participate in weekly meetings
* Participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support coverage for data center-related issues
* Perform maintenance-related activities during scheduled weekend maintenance windows
* Create and update existing documentation of processes and procedures in support of administration tasks
* Ensure adherence to security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls
* Participate in capacity management, expansion, and growth planning

**Requirements:**

* Excellent critical thinking skills
* Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention issues
* Working knowledge of SQL and Windows
* Knowledge of AWS and Azure a plus
* Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
* Familiarity with Agile Development Practices
* Knowledge of various high availability and disaster recovery solutions
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Certifications or interest in pursuing certification a plus
