Wind Farm Maintenance Technician

As a Wind Energy Operations Technician, you will be responsible for the effective operation and upkeep of the facility, focusing on maximizing wind energy output while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Your role will involve active participation in the safety initiatives, ensuring that all personnel and contractors follow established safety protocols and job safety assessments. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Communicating and enforcing site safety regulations through orientations, job safety analyses, and meetings, while supervising daily operations and collaborating with service providers and contractors.
- Operating and monitoring site machinery, upholding high standards for equipment reliability and efficiency, and performing routine inspections.
- Overseeing contractor activities, acting as the main point of contact for landowners, and coordinating on-site operations, including maintaining a clean and organized site.
- Diagnosing issues and suggesting enhancements to plant performance, providing support to operations at other locations during emergencies, and employing Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to resolve challenges.
- Ensuring confidentiality, adhering to legal requirements, and supporting wind and solar assets during planned and unplanned outages, which may necessitate overnight stays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in Solar generation, Wind generation, Thermal power, Manufacturing, Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance, with a working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment, including breakers, disconnects, transformers, and contactors.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain certification as a substation technician within twelve (12) months of employment.
- This position requires regular travel to client sites.
- Daily attendance at a worksite is mandatory.
- Availability for domestic travel to other solar facilities for emergencies and outage assistance is required.
- A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary to operate company vehicles on and around the facility.
- Compliance with ENGIE's COVID vaccination and testing policy is expected.
- Adherence to all ENGIE ethics and safety protocols is essential.
- The role involves a mix of indoor (50%) and outdoor (50%) work, with outdoor tasks subject to weather conditions.
- Some lifting may be required, up to 50 lbs with assistance.
Salary Range: $48.37 USD per hour
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual salary may vary based on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other legitimate factors.
ENGIE adheres to all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
