Job Summary:

The Maintenance Support Technician is responsible for the efficient execution of work scope tasks assigned by the Crew Chief. This role involves performing entry-level tasks to develop skills and experience needed to satisfy FAA requirements for an airman certificate. The technician will utilize technical data relative to work performed, including maintenance and inspection, servicing and lubrication, repair and modifications. The role requires involvement in all areas of aircraft maintenance, including airframe, avionics, structures, and interiors.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a technical training course with certificate
  • Must possess physical dexterity and general mechanical knowledge required for a technician
  • Proficient in the use of pneumatic tools and basic hand tools
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must not be allergic to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, and cleaning solvents
  • Ability to understand and relay both written and verbal instructions

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous aviation experience preferred
  • Read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Prior experience drilling and fastening of sheet metal parts
  • Prior welding, fabrication, or cabinetry experience preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Hangar and ramp environments with variance temperature range normal to Reno, Nevada
  • Must be able to work and bend in a confined workspace
  • Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Work with high noise levels including jet engines
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and/or overtime based on business needs
  • Ability to work at heights up to 50' above ground
