Permanent Housing Specialist

At Warm Shelter Inc, we are seeking a skilled Permanent Housing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our housing placement program, you will play a critical role in assisting clients in finding permanent housing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing case management services to clients in various housing programs. This includes preparing and submitting housing applications, conducting weekly meetings with clients, and guiding them through the application process.

• Manage a caseload of 10-20 clients, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their housing goals.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external service providers to ensure clients receive comprehensive services.
• Develop partnerships with local organizations to access resources and services needed to address barriers to housing.
• Conduct regular home visits to monitor client progress and provide ongoing support.
• Document and track all client interactions, information, and progress in the HMIS Database.
• Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining mainstream benefits, such as Food Stamps, Health Insurance, and SSI/SSDI.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the field. Ideally, you will have 1-3 years of experience working with homeless adults, preferably with substance abuse issues.

You should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and interact effectively with clients and staff members.

A background record screening process and driving record check will be required for this position.

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional weekend and evening work hours may be required to participate in meetings and events.
