An Infection Prevention Specialist Registered Nurse is a highly skilled nursing professional responsible for implementing and managing infection prevention and control programs within a healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and Analyzing Infection Data: Regularly collect, analyze, and interpret infection data to identify trends and outbreaks.
  • Developing and Implementing Infection Control Policies: Work with healthcare facilities to develop and implement policies and procedures to prevent and control infections.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments: Identify and assess the risk of infection transmission in healthcare settings and implement measures to minimize risk.
  • Educating Healthcare Staff: Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices and procedures.
  • Responding to Outbreaks: Work with healthcare teams to respond to and control outbreaks of infections.
  • Maintaining Infection Control Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of infection control activities, including monitoring and surveillance data.
  • Collaborating with Other Healthcare Professionals: Work with physicians, epidemiologists, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate infection prevention and control efforts.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a current RN license and several years of experience as a registered nurse in an infection prevention and control or epidemiology setting. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well under pressure are also important qualities for this role. Additionally, experience with infection prevention and control programs, experience with data analysis, and a strong understanding of epidemiology and public health principles are highly desirable.

This is a contracted travel position with TLC Nursing Services, requiring the ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care and infection prevention services.
