Job Overview

The State of Nebraska is seeking a dedicated and passionate Juvenile Justice Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young individuals and contributing to a safer community.

Job Description

As a Juvenile Justice Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to provide case management and supervision to high-risk juveniles involved in the Problem-Solving Court program. You will work closely with treatment providers, probation officers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective case plans that address the unique needs of each individual.

Key duties of the position include:

  • Conducting pre-sentence investigations and classification assessments to identify areas of need
  • Developing and implementing case plans to track and manage goals
  • Working with treatment providers to ensure participants receive necessary support
  • Investigating violations and discussing sanctions with participants
  • Conducting cognitive group therapy meetings and drug tests
  • Preparing and submitting progress reports to stakeholders
  • Performing field and home visits for assessment and reassessment


Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in social services, criminal justice, or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in case management. You must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $57,500 - $67,500 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek.
