Critical Care Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to join our team at Northern Light Mayo Hospital. As a critical care nurse specialist, you will provide expert patient care and leadership on the OB-GYN Unit.
About the RoleThis is a PRN position with no assigned hours, offering flexibility and autonomy in your work schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supervising other staff members, and contributing to a healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Safety: Promote a safe and therapeutic environment by understanding hospital policies/procedures and national safety goals.
- Clinical Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments, anticipate patient needs, and collaborate with healthcare providers.
- Caring & Code of Conduct: Treat patients with courtesy and respect, incorporating 'nursing presence' in patient encounters.
- Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to ensure effective treatment and outcomes, questioning appropriateness/effectiveness of treatment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reflecting adherence to hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Population Specific Competency: Develop population-specific mandatory education competencies, actively researching and implementing multidisciplinary care plans.
- Evidenced-Based Practice & Research: Incorporate research and evidence into policy development, enhancing clinical practice and collaborating with interdisciplinary colleagues.
- Leadership and Professional Conduct: Demonstrate time management skills, meet punctuality and attendance expectations, and contribute to a healthy work environment.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Implement and update multidisciplinary plan of care, proactively anticipating patient care needs and coordinating internal and external resources.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- A valid Registered Nurse license
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in a critical care setting (desired)
