About the Role

Aura is actively seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team as a Systems Engineer in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency in the Model-Based implementation of architecture design.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80A, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing requirements and multiple system engineering models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Eliciting customer requirements leading to Requirements Development
  • Collaborating with System Engineering and Command & Launch Segment System Engineering Teams
  • Supporting system, segment, element, and unit-level trade studies
  • Defining high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation
  • Supporting a team of engineers to create, mature, and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria
  • Identifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closure
  • Collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline

Estimated Salary: $123,000 - $153,000 per year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0-4 years of experience.
  • Systems Engineer level 1 requires Bachelor's Degree (STEM) and 5 years of related experience.
  • Systems Engineer level 2 requires Bachelor's Degree (STEM) and 10 years of related experience.
  • Systems Engineer level 3 requires Bachelor's Degree (STEM) and 15 years of related experience.
  • US Citizenship and Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years with ability to obtain Special Program Access.
  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages, and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, DOORS, Teamcenter, SysML, and UAF

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw or other architecture modeling tools
  • Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
  • Familiarity with Model-Driven Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts and CORE knowledge a plus
  • Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs
  • Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers
  • Experience with DoDAF and UPDM or UAF Profiles
