At Fairlawn Management Inc, we are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Director of Acquisitions to spearhead our growth strategy. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer and based in Chicago, this individual will lead our acquisition team, driving the expansion of our multi-family properties portfolio.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Midwestern real estate market, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of successful acquisitions. They will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing high-value multi-family property opportunities that align with our investment strategy.

The Director of Acquisitions will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing acquisition strategies that align with Fairlawn's growth objectives.
  • Leveraging market expertise to identify and pursue high-value multi-family property opportunities.
  • Managing and mentoring the acquisitions team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conducting thorough market analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence to assess the viability and potential returns of prospective acquisitions.
  • Leading negotiations and structuring deals to optimize terms and outcomes for Fairlawn.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of transactions.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with brokers, investors, and other key stakeholders to source on- and off-market opportunities.
  • Preparing and presenting investment proposals to the Investment Committee and Fairlawn's investors.

Fairlawn Management Inc offers a competitive salary of $150,000 to $190,000, plus incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as 401(k) retirement plan with match. We also offer paid vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay, and a wellness program to promote a healthy work-life balance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or similar) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, with a focus on multi-family properties, and a proven track record of successful acquisitions.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling, market analysis, and due diligence.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and real estate investment software and tools.
  • Deep understanding of Midwestern real estate markets, with established local networks and relationships.
